The Government of the Slovak Republic met today at its 144th session and negotiated under the leadership of Robert Fico, the Prime Minister.

The following ministers were absent:
Miroslav Lajčák, Minister of Foreign Affairs
Ján Počiatek, Minister of Finance

The absent ministers were represented by their state secretaries.

The Government discussed the Bill that changes and amends Act No. 725/2004 Coll. on the Terms and Conditions for Operating Vehicles in Road Traffic and on changes and amendments to some Acts as amended and on changes and amendments to Slovak National Council Act No. 145/1995 Coll. on Administrative Fees as amended and approved it with comments.
The Bill was submitted by Ľubomír Vážny, Minister of Transportation, Post and Telecommunications.

The Government discussed and approved the Bill on the Contribution Provision for the Participants in the National Struggle for Liberation and to the Widows and Widowers of these Persons and on changes and amendments to some Acts.

The Government discussed the Bill that changes and amends Act No. 619/2003 Coll. on Slovak Radio as amended and on changes and amendments to some Acts and approved it with comments.

The Government discussed the Bill on Fluorinated Greenhouse Gasses and on changes and amendments to some Acts and approved it with comments.

The Government discussed and approved the Bill that changes and amends Act No. 39/2007 Coll. on Veterinary Care as amended by Act No. 99/2008 Coll.

The Government suspended discussion on the Bill that changes and amends Slovak National Council Act No. 330/1991 (Digest) on Land Modifications, Land Ownership Structure, Land Offices, the Land Fund and Land Associations as amended.

The Government discussed and approved the Bill that changes and amends Slovak Republic National Council Act No. 10/1996 Coll. on Control in the State Administration as amended.

The Government discussed and noted the information on the use of price instruments to prevent undesirable price developments and on the adopted measures within the framework of the agricultural sector– a new resolution.

The Government discussed and noted the information on the use of price instruments to prevent undesirable price developments and on the adopted measures of the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic.

The Government discussed and noted the report on the progress of the preparation for the adoption of the Euro as of January 31, 2009.  
The report was submitted by Ján Počiatek, Minister of Finance and Igor Barát, Plenipotentiary of the Government of the SR for the Adoption of Euro.

The Government discussed and approved the proposal to cancel some tasks from the resolutions of the Slovak Republic Government assigned to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education.

The Government discussed and approved the proposal for a change in task B.1 of the Slovak Republic Government Resolution No. 18 of January 9, 2008, adopted with the draft plan of measures of the Slovak Republic in the event of the occurrence of events subject to the International Health Regulations (2005) approved by the World Health Organization and canceled task No. 4 in the month of March from the Slovak Republic Government Plan of Legislative Tasks for 2009.

The Government discussed and approved the proposal to change the deadline for the fulfillment of the task arising from Slovak Republic Government Resolution No. 526 of July 11, 1995.

The Government discussed the Bill that changes and amends Slovak National Council Act No. 323/1992 (Digest) on Notaries and Notarial Activities (the Code of Notarial Practice) as amended and on changes and amendments to some Acts and approved it with comments.
The Bill was submitted by Štefan Harabin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice.

The Government discussed the Bill that changes and amends Act No. 385/2000 Coll. on Judges and Tribunal Members and on changes and amendments to some Acts as amended and on changes and amendments to some Acts and approved it with comments.

The Government discussed and approved the proposal to determine the central state administration authorities responsible for the adoption and application of regulations and framework decisions.

The Government discussed and approved the proposal for the approval of the participation of the Slovak Republic in increasing the capital of the European Investment Bank.

The Government discussed and approved the proposal to appoint the members of the Investment Council pursuant to Article 5 Section 5.3 of the Framework Agreement of December 23, 2008 on the Implementation of the JEREMIE Initiative in the Slovak Republic between the SR and the EIF.  
The proposal was submitted by Ján Počiatek, Minister of Finance and Dušan Čaplovič, Deputy Prime Minister for Knowledge-based Society, European Affairs, Human Rights and Minorities.

The Government discussed and approved the foreign relations plan for the members of the Government, state secretaries and the chairs of the other central state administration bodies of the SR for April 2009.  
The plan was submitted by Miroslav Lajčák, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The Government suspended discussion of the current information on the state of the drawing of subsidies for the purchase of new automobiles upon the simultaneous liquidation of old automobiles as of March 24, 2009.
